Luxury cruise line Silversea has unveiled new details of Silver Origin, the cruise line's first ever destination-specific ship.

One of the most environmentally-friendly cruise ships ever designed, the new vessel will combine Silversea's local destination expertise with the cruise line's trademark European luxury when it begins plying the waters of the Galapagos in the summer of 2020.

The 100-passenger, all-suite Silver Origin will offer insightful itineraries to this Eden in the Pacific, complete with daily briefings, lectures, videos, and scientific information; authentic local cuisine, prepared by expert Ecuadorian chefs; and daily zodiac excursions to the very islands that inspired Darwin.

Perfectly crafted and with the utmost attention to the comfort of guests, the interior design of Silver Origin will whisper luxury, inspired by the understated Italian elegance that pervades Silversea's fleet of intimate ships. Yet, it will also take influence from the Galapagos' unique natural environment to strengthen guests' engagement with the destination, with bright, colorful motifs and regional materials punctuating the design.

With interiors by HBA Miami and GEM – Design for Cruise Ships, cruisers can expect spacious suites complete with ‘Horizon Balconies’ which can convert into glass conservatories; three elegant lounges with panoramic views; and two dining venues: The Restaurant, serving authentic Ecuadorian cuisine, and The Grill, a sophisticated open-air venue that serves Silversea’s signature Hot Rocks dining.
